In 2004, Diana spearheaded Have a Heart after recognizing that non-profits
do an excellent job in collaborating with one another when it comes
to programs and services; however, fundraising remains very territorial.
Have a Heart, was a grassroots effort that involved Forsyth County
non-profits working together "to build relationships, maximize
resources and raise community awareness." Have a Heart is unique
in that each participating non-profit agrees to collaborate throughout
the year to organize every aspect of the event - live music, dancing,
food, beverages, and a one-of-a-kind raffle where items that were
won went to the winning non-profits. Items ranged from consulting
services to gas cards to gift cards for printing and much more.
Diana refers to the event as "An evening of "friend-raising."
The event was held in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
